Your registry is the same - it contains thousands of entries which are essential to Windows and/or to your installed software but it will also contain entries which aren't used either by Windows or your software. If your dictionary was cut down to just the words you use it would be just as useful to you as it is at present in its bloated form. A dictionary contains a few thousand words which you use and a hundred thousand or more words you never use, perhaps have never heard of. Your registry is very similar to a dictionary. Not against technology so much as tired of having to deal with things no one can possibly understand in total, even you all and many of us are just perpetually confused. Once you master that, they upgrade to something else requiring another course.
Every program seems to require a course or so in how to work it. Left feedback with something, not sure what, about assistance not working, and was my register being 'cleaned' or whatever is supposed to be done to it. Do need to know what it does in regard to the registry if anyone could help with this? It offers that you sign up for something called 'euast' for help, which I did, when clicking on 'assistance' did nothing. But CCleaner isn't as comprehensive in telling you what it removes, so not sure. Overall didn't find it to be as user friendly and comfy as CCleaner, tho it seems like it removes more. I did go to the 'advanced' more agressive cleaner, but was terrified by it. When I clicked on 'assistance' at the top of the page, nothing happened. I looked all over it and couldn't find a mention of the registry. However, i don't know if it did the registry, the way CCleaner does, removing invalid entries. Gave back a lot of space, and specified a lot of what it took out. Now, every time you insert your USB flash drive, CCleaner will start automatically.I downloaded it about 40 minutes ago. Save the file as without quotes “autorun.inf” and put it on the root of the USB flash drive. The line should look something like this without quotes: “open=CCleaner64.exe”. If you are using 64-bit Microsoft Windows, replace “CCleaner.exe” with “CCleaner64.exe”. Now, to make CCleaner to autorun, start Microsoft Notepad then copy and paste the following to Notepad:
Once the contents are extracted, copy the contents of the ZIP file to the root of your USB flash drive. Once the file is downloaded, unpack the ZIP file with WinZip or download 7-Zip to unpack the file. To download the portable version, go to CCleaner Builds and download CCleaner Portable. The program is now intended for administrators and advanced users. Unfortunately, the portable version of CCleaner is no longer offered as a download on its website. The one you need is the portable version which doesn’t require installation and just run out of the box.
When installing CCleaner on a USB flash drive, you don’t install the standard version because it requires installation. To make CCleaner run automatically when you connect the USB flash drive, you have to create an autorun INF file that will trigger the program to start automatically upon drive insertion.
Yes, you can install CCleaner on your USB flash drive but it will not start automatically when you connect the USB flash drive on the USB port.
